Cheer Up, Chien Wen!

In his last post Chien Wen Kung takes issue with an article from the National Review Online, saying "I don't want to hear this sort of stuff from America's premier conservative magazine." While it is pretty much universally agreed that National Review has declined in quality in recent years, it is also no longer considered to be America's premier conservative magazine. That honor belongs to The Weekly Standard. I will agree that the National Review tends to have some pretty awful articles, especially those extolling the virtues of British imperialism. And conservatives should be glad that The Standard is probably-- as much as it pains me to say it-- the nation's most influential opinion magazine, on the left or right.
